A Spiked Gloomba is a Gloomba that has a small hat with a spike on top of its head. It is essentially a "Dark Spiked Goomba." It is stronger than both the Gloomba and the Spiked Goomba. They wear their spiked helmets to avoid being jumped on by Mario, however if Mario is equipped with the Spike Shield badge or has a similar affect, Mario can jump on Spiked Gloombas with no trouble.

In Paper Mario, Spiked Gloombas made their debut. They are found in the Toad Town Tunnels. These enemies can be found throughout the upper portions of the sewers primarily and may tag along with other enemies on the lower levels.
