Spider Stomp is a 2-vs-2 minigame which appears in Mario Party 7.
Gameplay[]
The minigame involves two teams having to make their way through a forest inhabited by spiders to rescue a butterfly (who has been kidnapped and attempted to be eaten by the spiders) at the end. The view is split screen, with each team being on one side, in separate yet identical sections of the forest. Both characters on each team are equipped with a gun that shoots circular laser-like projectiles that can defeat the Scuttlebugs along their path. Regular (children/spiderling) Scuttle Bugs only take one hit to defeat whereas the larger spiderling Scuttle Bugs require three hits. There are a total of four sections, each blocked off by a Spider Web at the end. Each team must defeat a group of children/spiderling Scuttle Bugs to eliminate a Spider Web and continue on to the next section. If a character is either hit by a Scuttle Bug's cobweb, a blast from their teammate, or touches a Scuttle Bug, they become stunned for a few seconds.
The fourth and final section has the characters fight a Big Scuttle Bug (which resembles a mother spider for the smaller spider) and she attacks by shooting three Spider Webs at once or by charging at the characters. The Big Scuttle Bug (mother Scuttle Bug) takes forty hits to defeat. And whichever team defeats her first is the winner. Doing so results in the Flutter on their side being freed. And in the end, as the winners do their winning pose, the Flutter celebrates with them. The losers (losing players) are not seen.
