Solo Toady

Solo Toadies are a variant of Toady featured in the Yoshi's Island series, and they first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Solo Toadies generally wear a purple cloak, but there are also Solo Toadies that wear a light green cloak named Green Toadies.

In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]

In certain levels, when the Countdown Timer is activated, a Solo Toady captures Baby Mario while he is in his bubble. Solo Toadies do not specifically focus on trying to attack a Yoshi, but they try to keep Baby Mario and Yoshi separate for long enough until Kamek's Toadies arrive to kidnap Baby Mario, causing a life to be lost.

In Yoshi Touch & Go[]

Green Toadies make a reappearance in the main mode, although they only attack Yoshi instead of Baby Mario. In Time Attack mode, the purple Solo Toadies guard Kamek's Toadies.

In Yoshi's New Island[]

Only the purple Solo Toadies make a reappearance, not the Green Toadies. The game reinstates their behavior from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
