WarioWare

Sole Man is a recurring microgame in the WarioWare series. It first appears in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!, as one of the microgames under Mona's Strange folder, and Sole Man later remade in Game & Wario, in which it is part of 9-Volt and 18-Volt's stage, Gamer.

Layout[]

In the WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! iteration, the microgame takes place on a beach, where several Fronk appear in the background.

Gameplay[]

The player takes control of Fronk, who is followed by a large shadow, followed by a foot falling from above. The player has to move Fronk away from the foot and avoid him from being crushed. The foot drops twice before the microgame ends. If Fronk is not crushed, the player wins the microgame, but if he is, the player loses.

In the Game & Wario version, a different character is played in each difficulty level, and Fronk is only played in the first difficulty level.

Difficulty levels[]

WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$![]

The size of the foot increases with each difficulty level.

  • Level 1: The shoe is someone's sneaker.
  • Level 2: The shoe is a hiker's boot, which covers a bit more of the screen.
  • Level 3: The shoe is a fat person's sandal, which covers most of the screen.

Game & Wario[]

G&W Stomp

Game & Wario level 3 gameplay

  • Level 1: A Fronk must avoid being squished by a person's foot. The setting is a dirt road.
  • Level 2: Wario-Man must avoid being squished by a dinosaur's foot. The background is a city on fire.
  • Level 3: A person in a Goomba suit must try to be stomped by Mario's foot. The setting is based on Super Mario Bros.

The microgame in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Sole Man is one of the microgames featured in the WarioWare, Inc. stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Just as before, the object is to dodge the stomping foot, just like in the original microgame. If a character is stomped, this has the same effect as a Pitfall, with the character becoming partially buried and incapable of moving temporarily. Just as in the original microgame, any character crushed by the foot loses.

Game data[]

Avoid the giant foot stepping from the sky! Not your favorite stomping grounds?

Aaaah! We'll be squashed! Run away! Huh?! Some people like getting squashed...

Trivia[]

  • The microgame's name is a pun on the song "Soul Man."
