Sockop

Sockop are enemies in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey.

Sockops are green sock-like creatures that inhabit Dimble Wood. They are able to hop through patches of thorns. They are able to create a yellow goo inside their hole. They use this hole as a mouth as well, as they suck on objects to eat them with it. When an enemy touches the goo they may become poisoned.

Their leader is a Giant Sockop, which can be shrunk down when knocked out. When a Sockop is knocked out they can be worn as an actual sock to help Mario or Luigi hop on thorns as well. When provoked a Sockop may shoot yellow orbs that contain the poisonous goo but it will not poison Mario or Luigi.
