Soccer Survival is a 4-player and a Duel Minigame which appears in Mario Party DS.
Layout[]
The minigame takes place in a wide soccer field. A Goomba is standing at the very center in front of a white goal. Right behind the goal are the spectators, consisting entirely of red-robed Shy Guys, who have filled all of the seats. The Goomba appears larger than the characters as if it were an enlarged variant, although most of Mario Party DS's minigames in general show the characters small in proportion to their environment because they had been shrunken by the Minimizer in Story mode. Nintendo and Hudson Soft are displayed on the wall as sponsors. The top screen features sprites while the Touch Screen shows 3D models. Soccer balls are the only object to travel between both screens, and they go from a sprite to a 3D model when doing so.
Gameplay[]
The objective for each character is to avoid the soccer balls that Goomba kicks at them. Each character can either move or jump around as well as jump on others to slow them briefly as well as prevent them from jumping while in this state. During the last ten seconds, aside from kicking soccer balls straightforward, Goomba also kicks them in curved and zigzagged trajectory.
Whoever manages to dodge all the soccer balls within the 30-second time limit or is the last character standing wins. If every character gets hit by a soccer ball, the minigame ends in a tie.
