Snowball Slalom is one of Wario's minigames in Super Mario 64 DS and an Action minigame in New Super Mario Bros.. In the former game, the minigame has a harder variation titled Giant Snowball Slalom. Snowball Slalom plays the background music theme of Cool, Cool Mountain and Snowman's Land.

Gameplay[]

Using the Stylus, the player has to guide the Headless Snowman down a mostly straightforward icy path to the finish line as fast as possible within 20 seconds. Rocks and Snowmen are featured as obstacles, and hitting only shrinks the Headless Snowman but also slows his movement. If the player touches the Headless Snowman, this also slows him.

In New Super Mario Bros., Snowball Slalom is featured as both a single-player and multiplayer minigame, the latter of which supports two to four players. The single-player mode plays mostly the same way, but adds penguins as obstacles, like in Giant Snowball Slalom. In multiplayer, Snowball Slalom instead involves each player racing their own Headless Snowman, and whoever reaches the end first wins.

In-game instructions[]

  • Super Mario 64 DS: Rub the Touch Screen to roll the snowman's head to the goal before time runs out! Rocks will slow you down, as will touching his head!
  • New Super Mario Bros.
    • Single-player: Rub the Touch Screen to roll the snowman's head to the goal before time runs out! Rocks will slow you down, so avoid them!
    • Multiplayer: Rub the Touch Screen to roll the snowman's head to the goal! The one who gets there first is the winner.
