Snipe For The Picking is a shooting Battle minigame in Mario Party 8.

Introduction[]

The 1st player enters a shooting range, where Ukikis are turning gears. The player then has a shot which doesn't count, then the game starts.

Gameplay[]

In this game the players are in a small room filled with gears that are being cranked by an Ukiki, where apple shaped targets will slide in front of them and they need to shoot smaller targets attached to them, that give the player 10, 30 or 100 points. Whoever has the most points after all the targets wins.

Controls[]

All players use the Wiimote to point and shoot at the targets.

Ending[]

The losers are carried off by Ukikis, while the winner does the victory pose. The coins are then dealt out in order of success. Whoever has the highest score gets the most points, and whoever gets the lowest score, gets no coins.

In-game Text[]

  • Rules – "Rack up the biggest score by shooting the target zones with the highest numbers."
  • Hint – "The high-score zones aren't always in the middle of the target. Pay close attention!"

Trivia[]

  • The name is a pun on the phrase 'ripe for the picking', which is a time when fruit is ripe enough and can be picked. This is also poked fun at the fact that the targets are shaped like apples.
