Snap Jaw

Not to be confused with Snapjaw.

Snap Jaws are small, brown crocodile enemies which appear in Yoshi's Island DS. They are often located around vines, which they climb on using their jaws. Snap Jaws try to drop onto a Yoshi to attack, and if Snap Jaw touches a Yoshi, the Countdown Timer is triggered.

Given that Snap Jaws are usually present around vines, they usually appear in levels in which Baby DK is the main baby. Snap Jaws first appear in 2-7: Yoshi on Stilts, and one is shown in the level icon for Use the Magnet to Get Rich Quick!, in which it appears to be climbing down a series of vines.

Four Snap Jaws appear in the land-enemy exhibit of the Island Museum.
