The Shooting Star is one of the karts for Mario in Mario Kart DS, the others being Standard MR and B Dasher. This kart is shaped like a shooting star and is yellow. This kart is average on all stats, but a little lighter than Mario's other karts. It is Mario's unlockable kart and must be unlocked by winning all 100cc Nitro cups.

The Shooting Star, also known as the Twinkle Star, is a large bike in Mario Kart Wii. To unlock the vehicle in this game, you must finish the 100cc Star Cup in first place or play 1,500 games. This bike is similar to it's kart equivalent, but a little rounded. This bike has high speed, but low acceleration, and it has outside Drift. Good choice for those who want a lot of speed and can't manage inside drift. This is a good bike for people who have difficulty with the game's Rainbow Road course because you can drive with a lot of speed without needing to drift. You may need to slow down when going around sharp turns, though. The normal staff ghost for Rainbow Road (Rosalina, Nin*Konno) uses this bike.
