Seedy Pods are are a variant of Pokey Sprout first appearing in Super Mario Sunshine. They resemble blue Pokey Sprouts and when approached, a Seedy Pod will burrow underground while launching dirt clumps at any would-be attackers. Seedy Pods are often seen bouncing around and singing before being approached, they can only be beaten with ranged attacks.

Super Mario Sunshine[]
Seedy Pods first appear in Super Mario Sunshine. In this game, they can be found in Bianco Hills and the Red Coin Field. Seedy Pods are often seen bouncing idly until Mario approaches at which point they burrow under the ground and start spewing seed-like dirt clumps every which way. Seedy Pods are invincible when underground. To defeat a Seedy Pod, Mario must user F.L.U.D.D.'s Spray Nozzle from afar to stun it and then jump on its head to finish it off, upon defeat, a Seedy Pod will drop a Coin. In the Red Coin Field, some Seedy Pods also drop Red Coins. Seedy Pods can also be beaten by being swallowed by Yoshi.
