"Rowdy Roddy's Rotten Pipes" is the sixty-second live-action segment of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. It is paired with the animated episode "Crocodile Mario."

Plot[]

Luigi is in a panicked state as he searches through the basement. He asks Mario for help stating that Rowdy Roddy Piper left his bagpipes for Luigi to fix. Mario points out that plumbers don't fix bagpipes but Luigi was too scared to say that. While Luigi notices Mario's new vacuum cleaner (which is made from bagpipes) Rowdy Roddy comes to the door and is instantly insulted for his kilt. He threatens Mario and demands his bagpipes, noticing the vacuum cleaner. Luigi claims it's not his bagpipes but an imported vacuum cleaner which Roddy insists he turns on. Roddy is hit by dust and the Mario Brothers become quite worried.

While Roddy cleans up, Mario and Luigi work to remove the bagpipes from the vacuum cleaner and put on a tape of organ music to fool him. Roddy asks for a new towel. Mario gives him a greasy rag. Roddy wipes himself off and gets angry after he sees the grease on his face.

Luigi and Roddy manage to remove most of the vacuum components from the machine but some of it is left on. Roddy is angry at first but gets really happy when he learns that he can now make music just by plugging the bagpipes in. He hugs the Mario Brothers who are more frightened than happy.

Trivia[]

  • "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is the second pro wrestler to visit the Mario Brothers, and the first one was Sgt. Slaughter.
