Rotating Panels are a type of platform which appear in a few games within the Super Mario series. They first appear in Super Mario Sunshine.
Description[]
Rotating Panels are always featured in sets of red and blue platforms. Every red or blue Rotating Panel stays level while the Rotating Panels of another color rotate. In Super Mario Sunshine, Rotating Panels always move around in a certain path, but in Super Mario 3D World, they remain idle.
In Super Mario Sunshine, Rotating Panels are wooden platforms with a red or blue border. In Super Mario 3D World, Rotating Panels were made smaller, and they have a sleek technological appearance with a dark striped pattern on the top and bottom, and a Rotating Panel's sides light up while it rotates.
In Super Mario series[]
Super Mario Sunshine[]
Rotating Panels appear in the Cliff Spring Cave area of Bianco Hills, specifically during its sixth episode The Secret of the Dirty Lake and its bonus tenth episode Red Coins of the Dirty Lake. In The Secret of the Dirty Lake, Mario has to travel across several Rotating Panels without assistance from FLUDD and go to a platform at the end and collect its Shine Sprite. In Red Coins of the Dirty Lake, Mario is now assisted by FLUDD, and they have to collect eight red coins within the Time Limit.
Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[]
Rotating Panels appear in Super Galaxy, where they form several paths along the way.
