Roosters are an enemy in Wario Land II.

Physical description[]
They are based on real-world roosters, which are male members of a chicken species. The enemy Roosters in Wario Land II are quite tall, being around the same size as Wario. A Rooster has a sharp beak that it uses for self-defense.
Behavior[]
If Wario does not provoke a Rooster, it is nonhostile, but if he either touches a Rooster or is holding the hen, the later specifically during the story Return the hen to her nest, the Rooster becomes enraged and pecks at Wario, causing him to lose coins upon being hit.
In Wario Land II[]
Roosters most prominently appear during the the story "Return the hen to her nest." They are also encountered in the Defeat the giant spear man story of Uncanny Mansion.
Roosters are unaffected by Wario's Dash Attack, which stuns them instead. While a Rooster is stunned, Wario can pick it up, although because Roosters are heavy, Wario has lower speed and jump distance while he carries one. Wario can only defeat a Rooster by Ground Pounding onto it.
