Roger the Potted Ghost is a large Potted Ghost-like character who appears as the boss of World 2 in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its Game Boy Advance remake Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. Here, Roger lives within his own castle, The Potted Ghost's Castle, where he started off as a lifeless pot, but was brought to life by Kamek's magic. Roger is fought by Blue Yoshi.
In Yoshi's Island DS, Roger and the other bosses from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island make a cameo during the introduction scene. There are also enemies named Potted Ghost that are seemingly based on Roger the Potted Ghost, but no connection between them has been established.
Battle[]
To defeat Roger, Blue Yoshi has to push him and his pot over the right edge of the platform that they are on. Meanwhile, two green Shy Guys push Roger left, away from the edge. Shortly after Blue Yoshi begins pushing Roger, he lunges at Blue Yoshi to try and knock him away. Roger can directly attack by shooting blue flames that home in on Blue Yoshi. If Blue Yoshi is hit by a flame, he takes damage, and the Countdown Timer is triggered. Pushing the Shy Guys off the platform before Roger allows for less interference, as there is no longer anything that pushes his pot to the left.
