During the Bestest Buds quest, the Ring is one of three options for Bowser's "perfect gift," the other two being the Bracelet and the Necklace. At Bowser Pad, Bowser wants only one of these items. In Bowser's hints, it is revealed that he likes rings the most, as Bowser says that he likes them more than bracelets, which he likes just as much as necklaces. Bowser then asks the player's character to pick up one of the items at Junk. Because the Ring is Bowser's favorite, this is the item that has to be bought at the Junk from Paratroopa, who comments that Bowser is going to love it. Once the Ring is brought to Bowser, he admires how shiny it is before putting it away.
