Template:EnemyA Rex is an enemy that first appeared in Super Mario World. They are deep-blue dinosaur-like creatures with wings that can't fly.

Super Mario World

In Super Mario World, the Rexes were one of the first enemies encountered. It takes two stomps to their head defeat them; the first one just reduces their height and increases their running speed.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, they are found on Hoohoo Mountain with Beanies and Dry Bones. A jump will decrease their height, and a second will decrease it even more, making their charge attack easier to dodge. At full height, however, they automatically hit.

Rexes have a Shroobified variation that later appears in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.

Super Princess Peach

In Super Princess Peach, they created their first appearance in Fury Volcano. Rex will be flipped over if Peach stomps on their head twice. Swinging Perry at one will take it outright, regardless of where on their body the creatures get hit. They had their own sub-species called Sad Rex.
