Refreshing Herbs are recurring items that appear in the Mario & Luigi series. They first appear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Usage[]

Refreshing Herbs are mainly used to help Mario and Luigi heal from any status aliment such as poison. They are very helpful items when dealing with status inflicting bosses and enemies.

Refreshing Herbs are no longer dropped by any enemies, although they can be purchased for fifteen coins each from either the Shroom Shop, the Monty Mart, or Gramma's Place.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story[]

Refreshing Herbs can be purchased from any item shop for five coins. A Refreshing Herb has the possibility of being dropped by only three enemies: Calorites, Borps, and Sockops, having a 20%, 30%, 10% chance respectively.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team[]

Refreshing Herbs become available for purchase at any general item shop after Bowser has been defeated in Dream's Deep. Like in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, each Refreshing Herb costs 30 coins.

The are a few enemies that have a low possibility of dropping a Refreshing Herb: Grumbells and Spritzblooms, with a 5% chance, as well as Monolifts R and Krubbishes, with a 10% chance. Several giant bosses fought by Giant Luigi, including Robo-Drilldigger, Mount Pajamaja, Earthwake, the Zeekeeper, and Bowser, always drop a Refreshing Herb if an "OK" rating is received from using Finishing Bros..

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam[]

Refreshing Herbs become available in any item shop after the Mario brothers escape from Twinsy Tropics. Just like before, Refreshing Herbs cost 30 coins each. A few enemies can drop a Refreshing Herb, most of which have a low drop rate, including Paper Scaredy Rats and Ninjis, with an 8% chance, as well as Hammer Bros in Sunbeam Plains, with a 10% chance. A Shiny Paper Scaredy Rat has a 100% chance of dropping both a Refreshing Herb and Double 1-Up Mushroom upon being defeated.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions[]

Refreshing Herbs were reduced to a lower price of 10 coins. The enemies that drop the item and their respective drop rates have also changed:

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey[]

Refreshing Herbs serve the same role, but the drop rate was increased for each enemy, including 50% for Calorites, 35% for Borps, and 40% for Sockops.
