Physical description[]
A Red Paratroopa is one of the color variations of Koopa Paratroopas. The only difference with a Red Paratroopa's appearance from the standard green type is that Red Paratroopas wear a Red Shell.
Behavior[]
In the 2D Super Mario series installments, Red Paratroopas have a distinct behavior from the green type in that they usually fly up and down in a set path, rather than bounce forward or fly back and forth horizontally although in the New Super Mario Bros. series, both flying and bouncing Red Paratroopas can be seen. Similarly to other Koopa Paratroopas, stomping a Red Paratroopa turns it into a Red Koopa Troopa.
Trivia[]
- Although green Paratroopas are the standard color variation of Koopa Paratroopas, various spinoff appearances featuring a playable Paratroopa, such as Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Hoops 3-on-3, prioritize using the red type. In the Mario Baseball series, both a green and a red Paratroopa are playable.
