A Red Essence is a rather unique item as it makes a single character invincible for at least three turns and removes all status conditions on that character. There are a few ways to get a Red Essence in a game. One way is to sleep in the Inn in Nimbus Land where Mario wakes up from a nightmare and the Toad will give him a Red Essence. Another one can be found hidden near the Save Block in the Forest Maze. Red Essences is also a possible item that can be won from Grate Guy's game.
