Red Blocks are a type of block which appear in a few Super Mario series games. They first appear in New Super Mario Bros..
Description[]
At first, Red Blocks start out as red Dotted-Line Blocks, but once Mario or Luigi hit a ! Switch, they solidify into Red Blocks. In New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Run, this effect is only temporary, but in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Red Blocks are instead activated from giant ! Switches on the overworld.
In Super Mario series[]
New Super Mario Bros. Wii[]
Red Blocks only appear in World 3-4 and World 3-5. As such, they are instead activated and deactivated by giant ! Switches on the World 3 map. Activating the Red Blocks are required to reach a certain Goal Pole in each level: the main Goal Pole in World 3-4 and the Red Flagpole in World 3-5.
Super Mario Run[]
Red Blocks most prominently appear in Red Block Run, and they can also be found in Switch Ghost House.
