Ravens are a species of bird-like creatures that appear in the Mario series. They also appear mainly as enemies in the series.

Ravens are small, bird like characters with orange beaks and orange feet. They are also usually seen with three feathers on their head.

Ravens behave mainly as the "birds" of the Mario games. They mainly talk with a "caw" like noise and tend to walk around on objects such as walls. The Ravens follow all orders under the largest Raven of them all: Raphael the Raven. Unlike the smaller Ravens, Raphael the Raven can speak both Raven and perfect English.

As seen in Paper Mario, the Ravens have the ability to build certain objects. They can also "fly" using their feet while their feet can also be used to walk around on objects even not being affected by gravity.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

Ravens are first seen in this game. They mainly act like hazards and obstacles by walking around on areas. They can be taken down by an egg by a Yoshi.

Yoshi's Story

In this game, Ravens mainly act the same except now, they are invincible to all attacks.

Paper Mario

Ravens reappear in this game where, unlike all of the other games, they are more of allies rather than enemies. They live peacefully with the Yoshis on Lavalava Island and can construct things under the orders of Raphael the Raven.

Yoshi Topsy-Turvy

In Yoshi Topsy-Turvy, Ravens resume their role from Yoshi's Story. However, they can be defeated by landing on top of their heads.

Super Princess Peach

It made its first appearance in Hoo's Wood in level 2-2. It walks around one platform as it was walking like Mario in Super Mario Galaxy. It has its own subspecies, Sad Raven.
