Rainbow Road is the final course of the Special Cup in the game Mario Kart 8. It takes place in a large space station with numerous high-tech themed sections and floating satellites, as well as an orbiting spacecraft resembling a Blooper. The space station is presumably owned by Mario Kart TV, as their logos can be seen throughout the satellites. Unlike previous Rainbow Roads, the track appear to be long lines of twisting solar panels, with the rainbow coming from cosmic reflection (this setting may be intentional, to differentiate this track from the N64 Rainbow Road in the Lightning Cup). Similar to Mario Kart Wii, it takes place in atmosphere with Earth on the background.
