In Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Rainbow Road includes jump pads that border most of the track. There's only one place that has a solid wall, that being where the racers start. It introduces boost pads as well, making it the first version with boost pads. There are clouds around the track that will drop fake Starman that will make the player spin out upon contact.
The course begins with a right turn followed by a left turn. After said left turn, the racers will be forced to turn right 180 degrees, heading back south. After a straightaway, they take a sharp 135-degree left turn, followed by a winding stretch until the road continues south for a bit. They then encounter a split path, with a narrow path with Dash Panels on the left reachable by making a small jump over the railing on the side and a wider, more navigable path without Dash Panels. The roads meet up further south, close to the southeast corner, where the racers will turn right, heading west. Two gaps are located up ahead, traversed by using Dash Panels and colliding with the rail up ahead. After a right turn at the southwest corner of the track, the racers will see the starting line up ahead.
This version is reminiscent of the Super Mario Kart version, due to its flat terrain and short length, but with the Thwomps removed and contain more sharp turns. Shortcuts can be taken by using Mushrooms to bounce off of the yellow jump pads to land the other side.
Trivia[]
- This is the only Rainbow Road that has yet to receive a goal gate at the starting line. It and Broken Pier are also the only Mario Kart: Super Circuit courses that have yet to receive goal gates, as all those that appeared in Mario Kart DS (Peach Circuit, the second Bowser Castle course, Luigi Circuit, and Sky Garden) got brought back in Mario Kart Tour and received goal gates there.
