- "The longest, and most treacherous, course in Mario Kart, Rainbow Road is a wild ride unlike any other. Its hypnotic curves and stomach-turning drops are enough to shake even the steadiest racers."
- —Mario Kart: Double Dash! North American website bio
Rainbow Road is the fourth and final track in the Special Cup in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. It is also the final track in the All-Cup Tour. Rainbow Road is throttled with Boost Pads, and near the end, it hosts a large pipe that launches the player. The number of barriers to prevent the player's downfall is borderline minimal, making the course very difficult. There are several statues of 3D rainbow-colored items and characters floating above the player. It uses a pipe-like cannon that shoots the player straight up, which has later been used for the Mario Kart Wii generation of Rainbow Road.
The staff ghost uses Mario and Princess Peach in the Red Fire kart.

Trivia[]

The misplaced heart.
- This stage takes place above Mushroom City.
- In single-player only, Stars will fall on the track due to the fact that falling stars come down on the track a lot (and many times becoming a Star item on the track). Hitting these will make the player invincible (because that is what a Star item does) unless they fall off the course.
- This is not seen in normal gameplay, however, if the player uses cheat codes or Action Replay, and go out of the skybox, there is a misplaced heart that is never seen in normal gameplay. It is unknown why this was placed outside of the skybox, or why it was made in the first place.
