Luigi's Mansion

Purple Punchers are an enemy in Luigi's Mansion and its Nintendo 3DS version.

Profile[]

Physical description[]

Purple Punchers are pink ghosts with yellow eyes and a small mouth. Despite their name, Purple Punchers have no purple attributes, similarly to how Gold Ghosts are orange instead of golden. Purple Punchers are sometimes depicted a different color, such as in Mario Hoops 3-on-3, in which they are light green.

Behavior[]

A Purple tries to attack Luigi by diving forward and charging a punch into him. If successful, Luigi loses ten HP, and the Purple Puncher laughs before vanishing and slowly reappearing afterward.

In Mario Hoops 3-on-3[]

Light-green Purple Punchers are among the ghosts that appear in Luigi's Mansion, where they sometimes catch the ball, in which case the characters have to try and retrieve it.

In Mario Kart Arcade GP 2[]

An a blue and purple-colored Purple Puncher makes a cameo as one of the ghost artworks featured in the Horror House section of Yoshi Park 2.

In Mario Sports Mix[]

Purple Punchers are among the spectators to the many sporting events. They are also among the ghosts to appear in the Luigi's Mansion stadium during a game of Basketball.

Crossover appearances[]

Super Smash Bros. series[]

There are two separate trophies in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U of the Luigi's Mansion ghosts, in which a Purple Puncher, along with a Gold Ghost and a Blue Twirler can be seen.

Flavor text[]
