Poobah the Pharaoh is a character and boss that appears in Wario: Master of Disguise. He is the former ruler of an ancient desert kingdom thousands of years ago during the game's timeline.
History[]
Poobah the Pharaoh was an obsessed king who desired to make one wish to fulfill his greedy desires. Despite knowing the risks, Poobah summoned the demon, Terrormisu, to help make his wish come true. Terrormisu agreed but only if Poobah himself agrees to her conditions which is to starve his people. Poobah complied to her terms but soon regretted his decision as Terrormisu took everything he had from him and reduced this kingdom to rubble. Terrormisu then sealed Poobah in his pyramid and sunk it into the sand. He suddenly recruited Cannoli the First to deal with Terrormisu so that the demon would no longer turn the world upside down; though, Cannoli the First was far too weak to defeat Terrormisu. However, Cannoli was able to retaliate and seals the demon into the stone that will be known as the Wishstone and broke it into five pieces and scattered them throughout the world.
Battle[]
In battle, Poobah has a wide variety of attacks that he can use against Wario. Poobah always starts off by making everything but his head disappear. Poobah will then shoot rocks out of his nostrils that can damage Wario if he gets hit by them. Afterwards, a crystal will appear on Poobah's head which Wario can transform into Cosmic Wario in order to shoot it and activate the next step of the fight.
Poobah will then stay in place and summon three K9 Cannons and two Sphinx Jr.s that will circle around him. Wario must then transform into Genius Wario and use his Ultra Hand to punch the objects at Poohah to stun him. This will expose Poobah's weakness, his underwear, that Wario must burn as Dragon Wario to inflict damage to Poobah for the first time. Wario must also be careful during this step as Poobah will attack by shooting his nose hair at Wario three times.
After Poobah is damaged two times, he will reveal one last trick by making everything including his head disappear. Wario as Genius Wario must punch a hidden screen at the top of Poobah's head to make him turn visible again. The fight then plays out the same and defeating Poobah grants Wario another piece of the Wishstone.
