The Poltergust 4000 is a kart that appears in the Mario Kart series. It is the upgraded version of the Poltergust 3000 from Luigi's Mansion and the Super Poltergust 3001 from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga built by Professor E. Gadd.
In the Mario Kart series
The Poltergust 4000 debuted in Mario Kart DS, as one of Luigi's karts. His others include the Standard LG and Streamliner. It offers decent Speed, Acceleration and Handling, as well as good Off-Road and Mini-Turbo (which two of those stats are hidden to the player), but it is fairly Light and has low Drift and gets poor Items. All it's stats except drift are slightly better than Mario's Shooting Star making it more preferable.
During gameplay, only Luigi can use the Poltergust 4000. However, if the player completes all 150cc Nitro or Retro Grand Prix cups, Yoshi and Waluigi can use this kart. To let all other racers use this kart, the player must complete all cups in the Mirror Class.
The Poltergust 4000 appears in Mario Kart Tour, as part of the Halloween Tour. It is classified as Super kart. The game also introduces a icy-blue variant, simply called the Icy-blue Poltergust, as part of the Winter Tour.
