"Plumbers of the Year" is the twenty-second live-action segment of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. It is paired with the animated episode "The Adventures of Sherlock Mario."
Plot[]
Mario and Luigi are busy fixing a leak when there is a knock at the door. They call for the person to enter and are instantly struck with awe when they see their visitor is the Imperial Poogah of the Grand Order of Plumbers. The Imperial Poogah reads them a proclamation stating that they were selected to be "Plumbers of the Year" but they must first pass an inspection, which they aren't sure they can pass.
The Imperial Poogah inspects the Marios' recent work and finds it to be flawless, but just before he can bestow the honor on them the pipes begin to leak. The Imperial Poogah retracts the honor but the Marios desperately show him they can fix it. They finally manage to fix the pipe with cheese from a leftover pizza. Impressed by their ability to improvise the Imperial Poogah bestows them with the title "Plumbers of the Year" and a free set of steak knives. Unfortunately, the pipe starts leaking again and the Imperial Poogah must order several more pizzas to help fix it.
