The Pit Plant is a giant green Piranha Plant who only appears as one of the main obstacles within the course Dry Dry Desert in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.
Physical description[]
Only the head of the Pit Plant is ever shown. The Pit Plant has a dark green head with white spots, large, light green lips resembling Petey Piranha's, and maroon spikes protruding from various corners of its head.
In Mario Kart: Double Dash!![]
The Pit Plant hides in the center of a quicksand pit in Dry Dry Desert. Here, it waits for racers to drive into there. If a pair of racers is pulled into the quicksand, the Pit Plant emerges to swallow them. A few seconds later, the pair of racers are returned onto the race course by Lakitu.
Although Dry Dry Desert returns in both Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Pit Plant does not, because if a racer falls into the quicksand, Lakitu instantly arrives to rescue them.
