Pipe Plaza is a Battle Stage which first appears in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. It is a course with brick walls surrounding it to prevent racers from driving off into the distance.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!![]
The course takes place in the middle of many rolling green hills with a blue sky and white clouds in the background. There are two floors. The first one is the main one that looks as if it is made out of asphalt or concrete. The second floor is an elevated metal platform. There are four pipes. When entering the pipes from the first floor, the racers will exit from the same side but on the second floor, but when entering from the top floor, the racers will come out from the opposite side on the first floor.
Mario Kart DS[]
Pipe Plaza returns as a retro Battle Stage in Mario Kart DS, and either Balloon Battle or Shine Runners can be played here, like with the other Battle Stages. Pipe Plaza is available from the start. Aside from graphical differences, Pipe Plaza remains the same as its original iteration. The course uses the same music as every other battle course, and also does not assign it the "GCN" prefix title. The same also applies to Block Fort, a battle course from Mario Kart 64. Despite both Pipe Plaza and Block Fort being retro courses, they are the only ones in Mario Kart DS to not have a prefix in its name.
