Pionpi is an enemy which appears in Super Mario Land, particularly within the Chai Kingdom.
In Super Mario Land[]
A Pionpi tries to attack Mario by jumping on him. Mario can stop a Pionpi temporarily by jumping on it, earning the player 800 points, although the Pionpi resurrects itself shortly afterward, similar to a Dry Bones. Mario can completely defeat a Pionpi by either luring it off the level or from shooting two superballs at it.
