Mario Party

Pier Pressure is a Free-for-All minigame in Mario Party 9 and Mario Party: The Top 100.

Opening[]

Cheep Cheeps and Urchins are shown swimming around underwater. Following this, the view then goes above water, showing the pier and the players.

Gameplay[]

Pier Pressure is a turn-based minigame in which the object is for each character to try and pick a fishing line that they think has a Cheep Cheep attached to it. At the start, an arrow moves above the characters, and whoever it stops on gets to have their turn first, and the characters to their right follow in order. Alternatively, depending on where the character who goes first is standing, the other characters follow in order from the right then those in order on the left. If every character is standing left of whoever goes first, the other characters go in order from left to right.

The minigame is luck-based, meaning one cannot tell whether there is a Cheep Cheep or an Urchin at the end of the line. If a character reels out a Cheep Cheep, they can continue playing, but if they reel out an Urchin, they are eliminated. Whoever manages to be the last character remaining is the winner.
