Phantom Hand

Phantom Hand is a floating, disembodied glove that point to secrets in New Super Mario Bros.

History[]

New Super Mario Bros.[]

They only appear in the World 7-, and their only purpose is to point out the location of an invisible block containing a Question Switch moving back and forth to the player. They are not enemies, meaning Mario and Luigi are not injured if they touch one. Upon the block's discovery, the Phantom Hands will remain idle pointing at the Used Block.

In the game's files, it is shown that there are invisible variations of other enemies and objects that went unused such as Podoboos, Bowser Jr., and various platforms and the Phantom Hands were intended to point to the locations of these as well.
