Mario Party

Peek-a-Boo is a 1-vs-3 minigame which appears in Mario Party DS.

Layout[]

The minigame takes place in a room of a dark house. There is a wooden "Wanted" sign on the top screen, and above it is a Boo of a certain color or clothing item.

Introduction[]

A Boo with the same features as one on the wanted poster pops out from under the table. The Boo is startled and retreats back under the table.

Gameplay[]

The object for both the solo character and the team is to scan for the Boos with an identical appearance to the one on the top screen and tap them to claim them on their side. The solo character has a larger view than the team, who uses a smaller, slower-moving screen, requiring each of them to cooperate. If a player taps the wrong Boo, it comes up into the screen, blocking it for a brief moment. Boos may sometimes hide behind an object.

Once the last Boo matching the type on the Wanted poster has been captured, the view shifts to the characters on the table. The number of Boos caught is then counted on each side, and whichever side caught the most is the winner. If the minigame goes on for five minutes, it stops automatically, and if both have the same number of Boos at that point, the minigame ends in a tie.
