Not to be confused with Para-Beetle.

Parabuzzies are enemies which first appear in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They are essentially winged variations of Buzzy Beetles, and Parabuzzies are more aggressive, calculative, and attack by swooping down on Mario and his allies.

Appearances[]

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door[]

Parabuzzy Paper

These flying creatures are located within the dark damp reaches of the Pirate's Grotto. Some of these halls are filled with these scary beasts. They use they wings to attack their prey from the sky and then assault them relentlessly. It their wings are shed, they become regular Buzzy Beetles. Their high defense make them quite the formidable foe and it that isn't enough, they occasionally have healing items too. Like regular Buzzy Beetles, they are able to be flipped onto their backs becoming fully vulnerable to attacks.

Super Paper Mario[]

Parabuzzy Card

Parabuzzies reappear in Super Paper Mario, in which they appear in The Overthere and Castle Bleck. Parabuzzies have little difference in behavior than before. It is recommended to take them out as Luigi as his Super Jump move is very effective against Parabuzzies from below.

Super Mario Maker/Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS/Super Mario Maker 2[]

Parabuzzy Maker

Parabuzzies appear again in Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Mario Maker 2. In these games, they can be produced by applying wings to a Buzzy Beetle. In these games, Parabuzzies commonly fly in place and can be used as platforms to reach higher ledges similar to a Para-Beetle. Their wings cannot be knocked loose unlike a Paratroopa. In any case if you need to defeat a Parabuzzy, the only way to do that is with a Starman.
