Paper Luigi is a paper incarnation version of Luigi based on his appearance in the Paper Mario series that came out of a magical book. He appears in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam[]
Paper Luigi is an independent character from Luigi and appears only after the player unlocks the Music Player after beating Shiny RoboBowser, though he is mentioned by Starlow at the beginning of the game when Paper Mario first meets Mario and Luigi, and confuses Luigi with Paper Luigi. A Paper Toad in Peach’s Castle also mentions him after being rescued. In the Music Player menu, he appears to sleep in Twinsy Tropics while the trio are on their adventure.
Though Paper Luigi does not have a role in the story, what happened to him is unknown. It is likely he returns back to the paper world off screen.
Playing the Music Player, Paper Luigi has different reactions: First one plays a song relating to Princess Peach, hearts begin to appear as he listens to the song. A second song plays relating to Bowser, Paper Luigi is shown to sweat in fear.

- Paper Luigi was planned to be playable in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam but was taken out as the team thought it would be too difficult to control four separate characters.[1]
- In the Paper Mario games, Paper Luigi can talk, Paper Mario can't, however.
