Orange Yoshi is a color variation of the Yoshi species. One first appears in Game & Watch Gallery 2's Game Boy Color version.

An Orange Yoshi is as a playable character in the Modern version of Vermin. It is not shown orange in the original Game Boy version due to its monochromatic palette. The gameplay involves Orange Yoshi having to defend a nest of six eggs from incoming Fly Guys, Koopa Paratroopas, and Boos, all of which he can instantly defeat by smacking them with a mallet.

Game & Watch Gallery 3[]

An Orange Yoshi is a playable character in the Modern version of Greenhouse. Orange Yoshi has to defend the plants from the incoming Fly Guys and Grinders. In the game's key art, Yoshi himself is instead used as the image representing the game.

In Mario Golf (Nintendo 64)[]

Orange Yoshi is one of Yoshi's three color variations, the other two being Light Blue and Red.

In Super Mario Sunshine[]

Orange Yoshi is one of the colors that a Yoshi can have. A Yoshi can become orange by eating either a Pineapple or a Papaya. Orange Yoshi's juice turns enemies into platforms that remain stationary.

An Orange Yoshi is seen in the Yoshi Theater as a non-playable character. If he is fed a Bean Fruit, Orange Yoshi lays an orange Neon Egg.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door[]

One of the colors that the Yoshi Kid can hatch as is orange with blue hair and green pants, specifically by waiting 11-15 minutes after getting the egg then hatching it by batting the Armored Harriers.

Paper Mario: Color Splash[]

An Orange Yoshi appears in The Emerald Circus as one of the Yoshis who can attack Mario. The Orange Yoshi attacks using its tongue, and it can eat one of Mario's Battle Cards.

An Orange Yoshi appears if the current Yoshi reaches 10,000 yards in Marathon mode. It can hold up to 50 eggs.

Yoshi's Island DS[]

An Orange Yoshi is one of the playable Yoshis. He is playable on the sixth level of each world, taking over Brown Yoshi's role from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

Yoshi's New Island[]

Orange Yoshi returns as one of the playable Yoshis, once again being exclusively playable on the sixth level of each world.

Yoshi's Woolly World / Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World[]

Orange Yoshi appears in Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World as an unlockable Yarn Yoshi design. Orange Yoshi can be unlocked, along with five other Yarn Yoshis, by completing World 6-8: King Bowser's Castle.

Orange Yoshi is one of the alternate skins for Yoshi, and it becomes available if the player purchases both the The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart 8 and Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 downloadable packs. It is also the Staff Ghost for GBA Cheese Land, riding the Pipe Frame with Monster Tires and the Parafoil.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]

Like the original Mario Kart 8, Orange Yoshi is an alternate skin of Yoshi's, but is now included in the base game. Orange Yoshi returns as the Staff Ghost for GBA Cheese Land in the 150cc class, now with a marginally faster time.
