One Step at a Time is the boss microgame of Jimmy T.'s stage in WarioWare: Twisted!.
Gameplay[]
The player has to control a character, who appears to be in a light blue bean costume, to the top of a spiraling flight of stairs. If done successfully, the player wins the microgame, but if they take too long, a frog climbs up the stairs and knock the character off upon touching them, causing the player to lose at the microgame.
Difficulty levels[]
There are some layout differences between difficulty levels.
- Level 1: There are cracked floors, and stepping on one causes it to crumble. When the frog passes these, it just jumps over the gap. There is also a floor tile that moves in and out.
- Level 2: At the start, there is a tile that moves in and out. Following this, there is a tile that opens and closes, and the player's character has to pass it while the floor tile is closed. Cracked floors then appear, but the dark black ones break immediately when stepped on. After reaching a certain point, a snowball comes and rolls down. One of the floor tiles has to be cracked so that the snowball collapses. Following this, the rest of the stairs are identical as in Level 1.
- Level 3: The microgame has a slightly different objective, as the player's character has to race a dragonfly up the stairs. The frog does not appear in this difficulty level.
