On the Spot is a single-player minigame in Mario Party Advance.
Opening[]
A line of Whomps descend from above, and the first Whomp in line jumps up and lands, facing its back toward the screen.
Gameplay[]
For each Whomp, the player has to use a cursor to poke sides of its back in the order specificed to earn points within the time limit. With each Whomp, the number of pokes increases, and the minigame gets faster. If the player accidentally pokes the wrong side of a Whomp's back, five seconds are depleted from the timer as the Whomp restates the order in which it wants to be poked.
In Shroom City, the player's character must poke five Whomps correctly in 30 seconds to win. In Mini-Game Attack, the object is the same, but the time limit is halved to 15 seconds. In Play Land, the player must poke as many Whomps as they can within 30 seconds, although each time a Whomp is cleared, time is added to the timer, depending on how many times it has been poked.
