Oil Drums are enemies found in the Donkey Kong arcade game and act as enemies in that game that spew out fireballs as an attack. The Oil Drums are harmless in the original Donkey Kong unless a barrel with fire is thrown at it, making it produce fire.
Oil Drums later reappear in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land as enemies/obstacles. There are two different types in the games: One spews out fire and has the words "OIL" on it, while the other species spews out enemies mainly Slippas and Gnawties and have the Skull marking with two crossbones on it. Oil Drums can be defeated by TNT Barrels in these games. Oil Drums majorly appear in Oil Drum Alley where many appear on where Donkey and Diddy Kong must hop on these TNT Barrels when they are not in process of spewing fire. They have the same traits in Donkey Kong Land s they did in Donkey Kong Country.
Oil Drums reappear in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis as obstacles in the final battle against Donkey Kong. They have the same traits and personality as they did in the original Donkey Kong arcade game.
