Profile[]
Physical description[]
Octo is a black squid, changed to orange in Dr. Mario 64 possibly due to avoid blackface connotations, although later changed again to its original black design in Nintendo Puzzle Collection.
In Wario Land 3[]
Octo is encountered as a boss in Sea Turtle Rocks.

In Dr. Mario 64[]
In the opening of Story mode for either Dr. Mario or Wario, Dr. Mario uses his Megavitamins to cure Octo from having a case of the flu. In Wario's story, Octo is the fifth boss fought. Like the other bosses, Octo is a playable character in multiplayer mode.
As a CPU opponent in VS. mode, Octo is one of four characters to have the second-lowest difficulty star rating, tied with Silky, Appleby, and Jellybob.
