Number Balls are an object in Yoshi's Island DS.
Description[]
Number Balls are a type of ball that strongly resemble billiard balls, and each Number Ball shows a one-digit number, ranging from one to five. A Yoshi can pick up a Number Ball simply by touching it and throw it like an egg, with the intended purpose being for a Number Ball to land into its corresponding slot. Once every Number Ball is in their slot, something can activate, such as a door, allowing the Yoshi to continue further into the level. If a Number Ball is thrown anywhere outside of its slot, it respawns where it was originally found.

Number Balls appear in a few levels, including Number Ball Special, Six-Face Sal's Fort, and Find the Number Ball! Most Number Balls are well hidden.
