The Nintendo GameCube Microphone, often known as simply Microphone or Mic, is a Nintendo GameCube accessory used for a few games for the systems. Of these, two being within the Mario franchise: Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7, and certain copies of each game bundled a Nintendo GameCube Microphone with it.

Description[]

The Nintendo GameCube Microphone allows the user to say something into it, and depending on what they say, this affects the game accordingly. Unlike most other Nintendo GameCube accessories, the Nintendo GameCube Microphone is plugged into a Memory Card slot.

For Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7, the Nintendo GameCube Microphone was used for playing Mic minigames. The Mic Spaces are only functional if a Nintendo GameCube Microphone is connected, otherwise Toadsworth, who runs the Mic Space, apologizes to whoever lands there and states that a Nintendo GameCube Microphone has to be connected.

The functionality of the Nintendo GameCube Microphone would later be incorporated into both the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS line of systems, in the form of a built-in Mic for each system.
