Nintendo DS is a Battle Stage in Mario Kart DS. It is similar to the Mario Kart: Double Dash!! game's Nintendo GameCube Battle Stage. The course takes place on an original Nintendo DS, with the player being able to explore the whole DS; he/she can go on the top and bottom screens. Much like the Nintendo GameCube Battle Stage, this stage takes place in space.
The missions 1-5 and 7-6 take place in this area. First has Toad as the playable character in the game where he has to drive through six numbered gates in order within thirty seconds, while Mario has to do so with eight numbered gates in eleven seconds in the second mission.
In the kiosk demo version of the game, the Nintendo DS course has a few changes; first being it taking place in a sunset area with a green sky with pink clouds. Also, the Mario Kart DS title screen on the top screen was replaced with the start-up Nintendo DS screen. The bottom screen matched the stage's scenery.[1]
