Neckies are vulture-like enemies found in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land that roam throughout the skies of Donkey Kong Island. They appear to have a pink neck and pink talons along with a brown beak and brown feathers. They shoot coconuts as an attack or by pecking Donkey and Diddy in the skies. They have a sub-species called Mini-Neckies which appear in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land along with their sequels, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2 along with a boss Mini-Necky, Krow and his form Kreepy Krow. Normal Neckies don't reappear in Donkey Kong Country 2/Land 2 and no species of Necky or himself appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III.

Neckies later reappear in Donkey Kong 64 in the Angry Aztec world. Two Neckies appear in the level. One of the Neckies is an enemy and is located near Tiny Kong's cage. They can be defeated by being shot multiple times by Lanky using his Grape Shooter to gain a Golden Banana. Another Necky can be found in Angry Aztec on whom Diddy must release to make the Necky challenge him to a minigame.

Neckies were going to make an appearance in Donkey Kong Racing, presumably as rideable creatures like Zingers were. They were seen in the background on when Kiddy was riding Ellie.

Neckies also appear in DK: King of Swing and its sequel, DK: Jungle Climber as enemies that either swoop down at the Kongs or shoot coconuts at them. A boss called Fire Necky appears in DK: King of Swing. Neckies also appear as obstacles in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast.
