Multi-Vators are a type of platform introduced in Super Mario 3D World

Description[]

Multi-Vators are yellow platforms with an orange, single-digit number printed on it to indicate the minimum number of characters who have to stand on the Multi-Vator to activate it. Upon being activated, the Multi-Vator moves, usually to a hidden area or collectible. Multi-Vators generally appear in courses with Double Cherries so that a character can use clones to meet the requirement of a Multi-Vator by obtaining Double Cherries. In Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Multi-Vators are usually easier to activate in multiplayer mode, which involves two to four players playing the game.

In Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[]

The first Multi-Vator appears at the end of Double Cherry Pass, and it requires four characters to ride it to the level's third Green Star.

Beep Block Skyway is the next course to have a Multi-Vator, which is located near the Checkpoint Flag. It requires four characters to stand on it, like the Multi-Vator of Double Cherry Pass, and using this Multi-Vator leads to the Stamp.

Three Multi-Vators appear in Backstreet Bustle, each having a different number requirement: the one requiring two characters goes from the beginning to the area in the middle; the Multi-Vator requiring three characters leads to the third Green Star; and the Multi-Vator requiring four characters leads to the second Green Star.

Near the end of Cakewalk Flip is a Multi-Vator that requires two characters, and using it leads to the course's Stamp.

Near the end of Rolling Ride Run is a Multi-Vator that requires two characters, and using it leads to the third Green Star. Given its two-character requirement and appearing near the end, this Multi-Vator's purpose can be considered similar to that of Cakewalk Flip's.

In Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker[]

A single two-character Multi-Vator appears in Double Cherry Spires, where it is used to obtain the Power Star. Multi-Vators also appear throughout Multi-Vator Mayhem, primarily for Captain Toad to progress throughout the level, and these Multi-Vators are retained in Boo Spotting at Multi-Vator Mayhem.
