Mr. President is a character in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, having made an appearance in "Reptiles in the Rose Garden." His wife is Mrs. President who, unlike him, has her full body shown onscreen, due to Mr. President being on a phone call throughout the episode, ignoring his surroundings.
Mr. President is based on George H. W. Bush, who was president at the time of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3's run, let alone DiC Entertainment's Mario cartoons in general, just as Mrs. President is based on his wife, Barbara Bush.
