Mom Piranha is a boss who appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga remake Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions Princess Peach is arriving from the Mushroom Kingdom.
Physical description [ ] The Mom Piranha is an giant egg-shaped Piranha Plant that has green vines for arms. She also has two forms, which are the color red and blue, giving her different elemental reactions: blue is weak to fire-based weaponry but heals from electrical attacks, while red is the opposite.
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga [ ] Mom Piranha is first found at the Beanbean International Airport , where she was blocking Princess Peach 's airplane from getting through by running her roots through the runway. Mario and Luigi first had to get rid of all of the Piranha Plants around the airport to then cause the Mom Piranha to appear from her shell and battle the Mom Piranha (any technique of theirs will begin the battle, but an ambush will deal no damage). Eventually, the Bros. kill her and Luigi sits on her to deliver the finish blow.

The Mom Piranha is a very tricky boss coming into the battle with many tricks and attacks. She mainly attacks by spitting fireballs at Mario and Luigi (who can bat them away with hammer strikes) and trying to swipe at them with her arms (avoided by jumping). Also in the battle, she can have up to two Piranha Plants to aid her in battle and if they are the same color as her, she will heal. It should also be noted when the Mom Piranha is attacked directly and there are Piranha Plants present, they will immediately attack Mario and Luigi.
Tips [ ] The Firebrand and Thunderhand are two very useful techniques in this fight. If the Mom Piranha is red, then Luigi should attack with the Thunderhand. If she is blue, Mario should attack with the Firebrand. It is also wise not to have two Piranha Plants be the same color as the Mom Piranha heals the more the Piranha Plants are her color. This means that one of the Piranha Plants should be red while the other is blue.
