The Mole Tank is a power-up used by the Yoshis in the Yoshi's Island series. It first appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and would make a reappearance in Yoshi's Island DS.
Description[]
A Yoshi gains this ability by touching a Morph Bubble of a Mole Tank. While in this form, a Yoshi can dig through and up soft ground as well as climb walls. The directional pad is used to move the Mole Tank in any of the directions. Aside from digging through soft ground, a Mole Tank into certain small openings that they could not otherwise do. Mole Tanks move a lot slower than Yoshi. The power-up is temporary, so if the timer runs out or the Yoshi touches a Yoshi Block, he returns to normal.
Trivia[]
- Although the Mole Tank is yellow in the artwork associated with Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yellow Yoshi does not normally have an opportunity to use the power-up in the game. Some other artworks of power-ups associated with the game feature similar oddities, such as Cyan Yoshi being in his Car form.
